Hi everyone,
First, I hope all of you, your families, and your library staff are doing well.

Second, in the midst of these uncertain times, this past week has had circulation that is between 17,500-19,000 checkouts every single day.  For context, after holds redelivery started, our normal circ dropped to 13,000-14,000 checkouts.  This week our childrens and teen circulation has been through the roof.  If you can, ODL needs your library's help.  I'm trying to mitigate holds and am spending money that is normally set aside for the end of the year.  While they are closed, some libraries have started diverting funds from their physical material budgets and moving them over to their digital services.  If you have funds available, I can build appropriate carts for you to purchase.  Or you can add your funds to the group pot that I'm spending on high holds, replacing metered access licenses, cost-per-circ (CPC) purchases, and collection development.

Users will be authenticated as Ohio residents using their phone numbers and a texted verification code.  They can then start checking out titles immediately.  The signup page looks like this:

After everything settles down, we'll be able to use the new IDC users' information to reach out and invite them to sign up for a full library card with each of your individual libraries that can be used with all of your other services.

The State Library's marketing person is working on putting together social media images about IDC that you can share.
