Women’s History Month is just around the corner. Take some time to ensure that your reading lists and displays are full of empowering titles that celebrate women in history, literature, and society. In this workshop, participants ­­will investigate any potential areas of need in their collections and make informed decisions that enhance measures of inclusivity. The program will highlight titles about women in a variety of cultural and social contexts. Registrants will walk away with an authoritative list for Women’s History Month, as well as an action plan that details how to implement their curatorial decisions into their existing collections.

Last year, the State Library of Ohio announced the Ohio Collection Analysis Initiative.<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/ohio-collection-analysis-initiative/> Since its launch, over 530 library staff from 80 counties throughout Ohio have registered for exclusive access to this original, self-paced, collection analysis initiative. Throughout 2022, library staff have explored resources, attended webinars<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/ohio-collection-analysis-initiative/#RecordedWebinarsandWorkshops> and open office hours<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/ohio-collection-analysis-initiative/#OfficeHours>, and used tools to consider collections that empower children and young adult readers by respecting and appreciating what makes them different and the same.
