[SEO-Members] Two new circulating NASA@ My Library programming kits now available

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce the addition of two new circulating NASA@ My Library programming kits<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/nasa-my-library/#About>. The new kits have been provided from Space Science Institute through a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore foundation, and additional copies of kits to increase availability have been provided through Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services<https://www.imls.gov/> (IMLS).

The new kits are designed for libraries preparing programming about solar topics in advance of the 2023 Annual Eclipse<https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/eclipses/2023/oct-14-annular/where-when/> and the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse<https://ema.ohio.gov/media-publications/ohio-total-solar-eclipse>, as part of the Space Science Institute’s Solar Eclipse for Libraries Program (SEAL)<https://www.starnetlibraries.org/about/our-projects/solar-eclipse-activities-libraries-seal/>.

The Younger Audience<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/nasa-my-library/#YoungerAudiencesKit> kit provides activities geared at younger audiences such as elementary age students. The Kit includes a Sunspotter, Mini Sunoculars and an activity based on the book MoonBear’s Shadow<https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Moonbears-Shadow/Frank-Asch/9781442494268>.

The Multi-Generational Programming<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/nasa-my-library/#Multi-GenerationalProgramingKit> kit is designed to help your library provide programs for all age groups. The kit includes two large Sunoculars, a sun telescope, and activity materials about the sun.

In addition to these new kits, the State Library also has two other space science kits available for programming:

Sun-Earth-Moon Connections<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/nasa-my-library/#Sun-Earth-MoonConnectionsKit> kit which focuses on activities and experiences that better help patrons understand their place in space, and how our Sun and Moon impact our planet.

Be A NASA Detective<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/library-programs-development/nasa-my-library/#BeANASADetectiveKit> kit focuses on activities and experiences that help patrons be more comfortable using tools of science, and making predications based on their observations. This kit focuses on things we cannot see with our normal vision on sense with our normal senses.
