[SEO-Members] Eric Taggart Appointed to Serve on State Library Board

[A person wearing glasses and a suit  Description automatically generated with medium confidence]Eric Taggart was appointed to the State Library Board by the Director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and sworn in at the State Library Board Meeting on January 18, 2024.

Eric has 29 years of experience working in Ohio public libraries including over five years in his current position as Rodman Public Library Director/Fiscal Officer. Previously, he was Director of Coshocton Public Library for nearly nine years and Loudonville Public Library for over two years. He also served three years as Children's Librarian and Circulation Manager at Loudonville Public Library. Eric's library career began at Wayne County Public Library in Wooster in 1994 as Film Department Page, Children's Department Page, Circulation Assistant, and Children's Librarian.

Being a former member and Vice-President of the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System (NEO-RLS) and having served on the SEO Advisory Committee including one year as its President have heightened Eric's understanding of the State Library's services and support for all types of libraries. He has experience leading and advocating for libraries on the local, state, and national levels. Eric's Ohio Library Council membership and past role on its Government Relations Committee, as well as his understanding of Ohio libraries and library organizations, is an asset to the State Library Board.

Eric Taggart earned his Master of Library and Information Science at Kent State University and Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Religion at Ashland University.
