[SEO-Members] Know Your Flow Ohio - A new LSTA Grant

[cid:image003.jpg at 01DB1411.DCD66800]The State Library of Ohio, in partnership with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) Region 6, is pleased to announce the Know Your Flow Ohio (KYFO) Grant<https://library.ohio.gov/libraries/grants/know-your-flow-grant> program.  The purpose of the KYFO Grant is to help public libraries address period poverty for patrons within their communities.

Fifteen public libraries will be awarded the grant. Each library selected will receive one menstrual product dispenser along with menstrual hygiene supplies from Aunt Flow. As part of this special grant program, these libraries will also receive $1,000 to acquire additional Aunt Flow supplies and create health programs focused on menstrual hygiene, education, and menopausal health information. Libraries are encouraged to collaborate with local public health districts, universities, clinics, and other healthcare providers to organize presentations, panels, programs, or outreach events. Educational resources can be found at KnowYourFlow.Info<https://knowyourflow.info/>, a platform created by the NNLM Region 6<https://www.nnlm.gov/about/regions/region6> and Aunt Flow to enhance awareness of menstrual health.

Applications<https://library.ohio.gov/libraries/grants/know-your-flow-grant/apply> are due November 17, 2024, and must be completed in one sitting.

"The State Library of Ohio is pleased to partner with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine Region 6 to provide this special grant opportunity for public libraries," stated Beverly Cain, Interim State Librarian. "Through our ongoing partnerships with NNLM and local public libraries, we hope to provide information that will help reduce the stigma often associated with menstruation and improve access to period products."

Ohio public library staff are encouraged to a drop in this Q&A session to ask questions about Know Your Flow, this LSTA special grant application process, or any other questions about applying for this opportunity.
