America 250-Ohio<https://america250-ohio.org/> hosts a program called Fourth Grade History Pass<https://america250-ohio.org/fourth-grade-pass/>, which allows 4th graders access to history sites across the state with a paid adult for family visits.
The Fourth Grade History Pass is a promotion to provide every 4th grade student in Ohio with the opportunity to visit any of 60 participating history-related museums and sites in Ohio for free with a paid adult. Every child in Ohio who was in 4th grade in 2024-25 is eligible for the free pass, which is valid through August 31, 2025. Children and families can visit multiple sites using the pass. Accompanying family members pay regular admission.
This program is part of Ohio's celebration of the U.S. 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence which will occur in 2026.
Ohio public libraries are encouraged to distribute the Fourth Grade History Pass to eligible children and families in your community. The pass (PNG and PDF versions) and a publicity poster are available for download/printing here<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1GSGML7vNy0qD0xxdEDRQMDyJNFsVJUOb?usp=sharing>. Print the passes in color on white paper. You may print them at any size - you may want to arrange several copies of the pass onto a page for efficient printing. The PDF is the "regular" size pass; the PNG version can be reduced or enlarged.
Families may also print the pass themselves at https://america250-ohio.org/fourth-grade-pass/. Do not give families the link to the Google folder above.
A list of participating history sites and museums, plus a FAQ and more details, are also at https://america250-ohio.org/fourth-grade-pass/
If you have questions or if you'd like print copies of the pass, poster, and other 4th Grade History Pass resources, contact Tallia Booker, Outreach and Communications Coordinator, America 250-Ohio at tbooker at ohiohistory.org<mailto:tbooker at ohiohistory.org>.
