[SEO-Members] News from CSLP annual meeting: 2028 program slogan, 2029 theme, & 2026 artwork preview!

The Collaborative Summer Library Program annual meeting took place yesterday and today. Among other business, CSLP state reps, staff, and board members reviewed the 2026-2028 CSLP Strategic Plan<https://www.cslpreads.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/CSLP-Strategic-Plan-One-Pager.pdf>, and the state reps voted their states' choices for 2028 program slogan and 2029 program theme.

The slogan for the 2028 Mythical Creatures-themed CSLP summer program will be Libraries Are Legendary / Las bibliotecas son legendarias.
The theme for the 2029 CSLP summer program will be Nature.

Thank you for participating in the national theme and slogan polls and giving me direction for Ohio's vote at the CSLP annual meeting. 458 Ohio library workers completed the national survey for 2028 slogan and 2029 theme. While there was a wide diversity of opinions expressed in the surveys, both Libraries are Legendary and Nature received the highest average score in their category from Ohio participants. So, I'm pleased to affirm that Ohio again got our statewide 1st choice for upcoming slogan and theme!

The CSLP state reps were also treated to a preview of the 2026 CSLP Unearth a Story<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c_hEiyNLITy5kD7eaZEG_XdsoKwGwhA-/view?usp=sharing> artwork by Tom Bonson<https://www.tombonson.com/>.

In coming weeks, the Unearth a Story program manual will be released and the CSLP storefront will open.

Ohio library workers did absolutely amazing things with the Color Our World theme this summer. I'm greatly looking forward to seeing how Ohio libraries "Unearth a Story" in 2026. CSLP themes, slogans, artwork, manuals, and all other CSLP resources reflect the creativity and feedback of library workers and summer library program planners like you.
