Dear Library Friends,

Let me set a scene for you.  It's 2020 -  I was convinced we needed to
start a books by mail program to aid during COVID.  I decided to purchase
lovely zipper bags with the Louisville Public Library logo on them that
would fit perfectly into our USPS bins.

A few weeks later - the bags that I had waited on with baited breath
arrived.  Excitement swelled for the new program.  And, promptly, I did
nothing.

I would, however, periodically gaze at the box and consider what never was.

The years passed by, the box got shelved, a new Library was constructed, I
gained some weight and "some things that should not have been forgotten
were lost."

Until late one night in our new Library (this part is a true story), the
box reappeared and since we had just moved, we had NOT ONE bag for cargo.
Convinced that my dreams of a book-by-mail program were long since lost to
the wind, I made a decision.  Send the bags out with cargo.

Well, after five years of stagnation and one impulsive decision a few
months ago, the opportunity for a books-by-mail program has once again
surfaced.

If you have one of the blue zipper bags that say Louisville Public Library
on it, would you kindly consider sending it back to LSV?  If you do, I
promise to not yet again get mired in stagnation and will actually start
our long-awaited books-by-mail program.
