[SEO-Members] Kirstin Krumsee Ziegler Promoted to Legislative Liaison

[cid:image004.jpg at 01DC0149.B36C93B0]The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce the promotion of Kirstin Krumsee Ziegler<mailto:kkrumsee at library.ohio.gov> to Legislative Liaison in the State Librarian's Office. In this role, she will coordinate public and legislative affairs on the state and federal level for the State Library. Kirstin's responsibilities include developing and executing state and federal legislature outreach plans, and coordinating activities with legislators, government agencies, and library advocates. Kirstin will research existing and proposed legislation to assess potential impacts, monitor legislative movements throughout the legislative process, as well as prepare reports, correspondence, and articles for outreach and publication.

In addition, Kirstin's responsibilities include advising and consulting with libraries, trustees, government agency employees, professional organizations, and other stakeholders on statewide, regional, and local matters regarding data and library boundaries.

Kirstin has worked at the State Library since 2011, first serving as Reference and Electronic Resources Librarian followed by Government Information Library Consultant, and most recently as Data and Research Consultant. Kirstin was named a 2019 Mover & Shaker in Library Journal for her work on Libraries by the Numbers. In her role as Government Information Library Consultant, Kirstin served a three-year term on the Depository Library Council to the US Government Publishing Office. Prior to joining the State Library, she worked in public and special libraries including the Upper Arlington Public Library, the Ohioana Library and as Information Services Librarian for the Edison Welding Institute.

Kirstin earned a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio State University. Kirstin was a member of ILEAD Ohio Class of 2013 and Library Leadership Ohio Class of 2014.
