We have headphones behind the desk, that people can borrow in-house. We do a wipe down of those once they are returned with Clorox wipes.

We recommend that patrons use their own earbuds or headphones. If they do not have any, we give them a cheap pair of earbuds to keep for free. They are limited to one pair of earbuds a month.

Hello everyone,
I am researching operational practices for public computer workstations and media areas.
Could you please share how your library manages headphones and earphones? Specifically, I am interested in:
* Provision: Do you provide headphones, or must patrons bring their own?
* Distribution: Are they handed out at desks or kept at stations?
* Sanitation: What is your cleaning protocol between individual patron uses?
* Disposables: Do you utilize single-use earbud covers or sanitizing wipes?
* Budgeting: Do you sell cheap earbuds to patrons as an alternative?
Your insights will greatly help us shape our own hardware and health policies. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Sincerely,
Kristina McKown- Circulation Services Specialist
