The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce Making Connections: Community Support for Adult and Senior Library Patrons, a webinar series focused on the needs of adults in the library community. The first session in this series, Supporting Caregivers at Your Library, will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at 2pm (EST).

Library practitioners and representatives from community organizations will present valuable information and resources in this virtual learning series focused on the needs of adult patrons in your community.

Monthly topics range from caregiving and dementia-friendly libraries to all-abilities groups and multigenerational programming. Clark County Public Library Patron Advocate Katie Miller will be co-presenting and will offer the perspective of social work in libraries, and how it can intersect with these topics. Following a presentation, attendees will be invited to join a Q&A and spend time discussing actionable ideas to take back to your own library, regardless of size.

All sessions will be held via Microsoft Teams and will have individual registration links. The presentations will be recorded for later viewing, but group discussions will only be available to those attending live.

About Supporting Caregivers at Your Library:
Presenters: Hannah Atibagos, Program Manager for the Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Chapter
Katie Miller, Patron Advocate at the Clark County Public Library

November is designated as National Family Caregivers Month, and according to Caregiving in the US 2025<https://www.caregiving.org/caregiving-in-the-us-2025-toolkit/>, nearly a quarter of adults across Ohio are providing care to a family member or friend with complex medical conditions or disabilities, with over 400,000 caring for those with dementia. Join us for this session to learn more about resources available from local Alzheimer's Association Chapters, how libraries can further support and welcome caregivers of any kind, and join small group discussions for solutions or programs that you can bring back to your own library.
