[SEO-Updates] UPDATE: Important Update: Changes to the SEO Libraries App and Platform

We are excited to announce that the migration of the SEO Libraries App is scheduled for tomorrow, September 21st.  The migration itself will take place outside of business hours and we anticipate minimal downtime.  SOLUS has handled all the preparations and testing to ensure a smooth transition.

For App Template holders, there will be a new URL to manage the app.  We will send this out tomorrow once everything has successfully migrated.

Good morning,



We want to take this opportunity to inform everyone about significant upcoming changes concerning the SEO Libraries App and the underlying platform that powers its functionality.



The SEO Libraries App, known as BLUECloud Mobile, was initially developed through a partnership between SirsiDynix and SOLUS back in 2017. However, in March of 2023, we were surprised to learn that the partnership had actually ended the previous year without any prior announcement. As a result, SirsiDynix has taken over full ownership of the source code and the responsibility for continued development.



We must admit that this news raised some concerns, especially considering the slow development progress we've observed with other SirsiDynix BLUECloud web-based Circulation and Cataloging modules. In response, we scheduled a meeting with senior leaders of SirsiDynix to express our worries about their ability to handle the additional development of our beloved SEO Libraries App.



Following several discussions with both SOLUS and SirsiDynix regarding the future of their respective products, we have concluded that it is in the consortium's best interest to make a change. Consequently, we have formally requested that SirsiDynix remove the BC Mobile product from our contract. Instead, we have decided to sign a contract with SOLUS to continue with their product offering.



As we move forward with this transition, we want to reassure all our members and patrons that these changes should not impact your experience with the app. There will be no need to reload the App, and everything should continue to function seamlessly.

Additionally, for those members who have App Templates, you will no longer receive an invoice from SirsiDynix. Moving forward, all charges will be reflected in your SEO quarterly billing.



To kickstart this process, we have already begun the first phase of preparing for the migration from SirsiDynix servers to SOLUS US-based hosted servers.



We will keep you updated throughout the entire platform migration process and look forward to providing you with some exciting new product features this fall.
