Tools for Managing Electronic Resources: A Workshop and Conference
<http://www.ohionet.org/ercon/> will be held on Thursday, March
22-Friday, March 23, 2007. The preliminary program
<http://ohionet.org/ercon/agenda.php> is available and registration
<http://www.ohionet.org/ercon/registration.php> open.

Electronic resources are an ongoing challenge for libraries. From
databases to digital audio books, libraries of all types are selecting
increasing quantities and varieties of electronic materials for their
collections. As the technology and business models continue to change at
a rapid pace, we must adopt new tools and techniques to manage these
resources. "Tools for Managing Electronic Resources" will focus on how
electronic resources have changed the ways in which libraries and their
staff approach acquiring electronic resources and the methods they use
to successfully manage electronic collections.

Join us at Columbus Metropolitan Library on Thursday, March 22, 2007,
for a workshop <http://ohionet.org/ercon/agenda.php#workshop> for
personnel who manage electronic resources. The e-resources toolkit
session will explain the purpose and availability of the products
libraries use to track their electronic resources, from A-Z lists to
Electronic Resource Management software. Best practices and issues in
acquiring, providing access to, and troubleshooting electronic resources
will be the focus of the afternoon session. Seating is limited, so
please register early for this exciting event.

On Friday March 23, 2007, at the State Library of Ohio, the conference
<http://ohionet.org/ercon/agenda.php#conference> will focus on the
big-picture issues faced by directors and staff responsible for managing
electronic resources. Featuring a keynote address by Dan Tonkery of
EBSCO, the conference will look at changes in the role of the librarian
brought about by the growth of electronic resources. Other sessions will
address the ongoing marketing and evaluation of electronic resources and
a panel of industry experts who will take a look at future trends in the
field of electronic resources.

To register or for more information about Tools for Managing Electronic
Resources, please visit the conference website
