If you don't mind spending a little money, Altiris(Which Ed Liddle
mentioned) is an excellent solution. They were recently bought out by
Symantec.

I use Altiris not only for imaging PCs, but for remotely managing them as
well. You can see what is installed on the PC, rename it, and any number of
other things.

It also comes with an MSI editor to help you distribute packages.

You can schedule tasks to run during hours you are closed which combines
nicely with the Wake On Lan functionality.

You can use it to add machines to a domain

It can be a great help for installing an image to a bunch of machines with
blank harddrives as well.

It gives you an in depth look at your hardware and software(including device
and vendor Ids.which come in really handy when working with the PXE manager)

Altiris Deployment Solution is a powerful tool that you can build onto by
adding other Altiris components later.

All that said, it can be tricky to set up. But, once you get it up and
running, it can save you a boatload of time.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Imaging software

Hello,

I was wondering what types of imaging software are being used by your
technology

departments or are you even using imaging software at all? I am currently
using Norton

Ghost to image public computers but was wondering if there is a better
program or a

better way of imaging the public computers as well as staff computers?

Thanks.
