[OPLINLIST] Call for Entries in the 2008 Southern Ohio Teen Film and Video Festival

Dear Ohio Children's, Teen, and Youth Services Librarians and other
interested members of the Library Community,
I wanted to take just a minute of your time to let you know about an arts
and media opportunity open to Ohio teens involved in the arts - a chance to
submit an original film in the first-ever Southern Ohio Teen Film and Video
Festival.

The Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library and the Southern Ohio
Storytelling Arts and Music Festival are co-sponsoring the event.  Teens can
enter films in one of two divisions: Young Teen (12-15) and Older Teen
(16-19).

Please note the submission deadline for entries in the Festival is August 1,
2008.

Films can be up to ten minutes long and include: animation; commercials;
documentaries; experimental and feature films; music videos; or “other”
submissions.   A panel of judges will watch each entry.  Those films judged
as outstanding will be screened publicly during the Southern Ohio
Storytelling Music and Arts Festival, September 5 and 6, 2008, at the
historic Majestic Theatre in downtown Chillicothe.  The Chillicothe & Ross
County Public Library is working with the Southern Ohio Storytelling
Festival Committee and local organizations to offer prizes for the
outstanding entries.

are available for download at the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library
website, www.crcpl.org.

Would you partner with us to promote the Teen Film Festival by passing on
contest information to your teen groups and by posting the Festival Flyer
and Submission Guidelines in your teen areas?  With your help, the Festival
will attract entries from across Ohio, making the Southern Ohio Teen Film
and Video Festival truly a statewide event.
