Community Reads and the Wood County District Public Library (251 N. Main
St., Bowling Green, OH) welcome best-selling author Amy Stewart to Bowling
Green on Tuesday, October 15. She will speak in the library atrium at 7 pm.



Stewart is the author of six books which delve into what she calls “the
perils and pleasures of the natural world” and five novels based on the
life of one of the country’s first female deputy sheriffs, Constance Kopp,
and her rambunctious sisters, Norma and Fleurette.



Community Reads features 2 of Stewart’s nonfiction books, *The Drunken
Botanist *and *Wicked Bugs* (for young people), and the first novel to
introduce the Kopp sisters, *Girl Waits with Gun*.



A starred review of *Girl Waits with Gun* in *Kirkus* noted, “Stewart
crafts a solid, absorbing novel based on real-life events--though they’re
unusual enough to seem invented. Stewart deftly tangles and then unwinds a
complicated plot with nice period detail.”



Copies of *Girl Waits with Gun*, *The Drunken Botanist*, *Wicked Bugs* (youth
edition), and the newly released *Kopp Sisters on the March* will be
available to purchase from the Friends of the Library, and Ms. Stewart will
sign books following her talk.



This event is free but ticketed. Tickets are available online at
https://www.wcdpl.org/Meet-Amy-Stewart or may be obtained in person at the
library. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. For more
