Franklin Branch Manager, Full-Time

LOCATION: Franklin Branch Library

 

SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, exempt position that requires working some evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Franklin-Springboro Public Library is a busy, respected library that is a very visible and active part of the community it serves.  The Franklin Branch Manager is responsible for effective day-to-day operation and management of branch library.  Duties include daily staff scheduling to assure sufficient personnel coverage during all open hours, thorough attention to facility management and coordination and communication to the proper person to fix problems, thoughtful selection, training and evaluation of branch staff, competent provision of direct information services to library users, including assistance with computers.  The Branch Manager is responsible for effectively implementing and evaluating branch services and programs. Manager works closely with other administrative staff to assure library services are responsive to community needs.   This position also interprets and implements library policy and procedure as well as assisting in their development with other administrative staff.  This position participates in immediate and long-term planning of the library’s services within its service community. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's degree, or combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school is highly desirable.  Experience working in a public services unit of a public library, proficient in the use of library catalogs and library circulation systems, management experience, preferred.  

 

BENEFITS: This is a full-time exempt position.  The salary range is dependent on qualifications.  Benefits include sick and vacation leave, health, dental, and life insurance and membership in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
