[OPLINTECH] Using Public Browser for Library Catalogs

OPLIN TECH:

Thanks for the input on the Public Browser issue. I'm currently trying the
Firefox in Kiosk mode. I was using the auto-reset function but I kept
getting a white screen on my terminals after a certain period so I took that
function off for now. I'm going to see how the patrons and staff interact
with it; the like the true Kiosk function, but there are now no forward or
back buttons and that may confuse or irritate some folks - we'll see.

Thanks again,

Soon I will set up a box for access only to a Scholastic site. I am
going to use group policy and Firefox. Try searching for the r-kiosk
extension. Set the built-in proxy to whatever sites you want then add
the extension. After you get the browser set up, just lock down with
group policy. We also use Deep Freeze (feel free to use Steady State).
