If you don't need a cd/dvd drive, Lenovo makes a tiny PC that can be mounted on the back of a flat screen monitor, on a wall or under a desk.

We have several deployed for self check stations. They have been working great. I have only had 1 hard drive failure with them over the last couple of years we have been using them. Replacing the hard drive was easy. They come apart easily and can be put back together easy too. They use a laptop style power supply which could be replaced with one from lenovo or with a universal laptop power supply. I like being able to replace just a monitor or just a PC when needed. Since the power supplies are like a laptop, they can be replaced easily too. I'm not personally completely sold on the all-in-one solutions yet especially when there are small computers available that aren't much bigger than an internal desktop CD/DVD drive.

Subject: [OPLINTECH] Computer Upgrades

We’re looking at upgrading some of our staff computers at a local branch and was wondering what a lot of the IT administrators for their libraries are putting in place. I’m mauling over the idea of using all-in-one computers since it seems desktop will be getting phased out in the next few years. Any ideas?

Many Thanks,
