Hey Chad & Lisa,
I have experience with both Deep Freeze (Enterprise) and Reboot Restore RX Pro. In my opinion (and your mileage WILL vary) there is no way in the world that I would EVER use Reboot Restore again. Not only did I have many, many, many issues over the 2 or 3 year period (seemed a LOT longer) that I used it, their tech support was absolutely terrible. I normally don’t trash a company’s product but, this one deserves it (again my opinion and mine alone). While I have had issues with Deep Freeze as well, their tech support has always been good for me. I has now been about 5 or so years since I switched back to DF so I suppose it is possible that Reboot Restore has made a turn around but, I’m not ready to give them the benefit of the doubt yet. I know that Deep Freeze Ent is expensive but, I have been quite satisfied with not just the product but, with their support (which really is part of the product).

As an add-on to Lisa's question, I'd be curious to know if anyone has experience with both Deep Freeze and Reboot Restore (formerly Drive Vaccine), which product you ended up with, and why?

I've always just used DF. For years, it was the only program of this type that operated at a hard drive/block level, which is what made it close to bulletproof. The file-level attempts (ala Windows SteadyState) weren't as robust. But by now, DF probably has some competition from other products...

I am looking to replace WinLock on our patron desktops with either DeepFreeze or Reboot Restore RX Pro. I prefer the Ultimate version of DeepFreeze but will probably have to settle for the Premium version because of the price. Reboot Restore RX Pro is available through TechSoup at a very reasonable price. Is there any reason not to go with Reboot Restore RX Pro?

Thanks,

Lisa
