Folks,
As the Ohio representative on the MAC Presidents' Award, I write to ask for
ideas you may have for an archival supporter or advocate--individual or
group--from Ohio deserving of recognition by MAC. Please read below the
information on the award from the MAC web site. With the hope you have the
name of a deserving nominee, please be in touch with the name of the
candidate and some brief information on the candidate. Thanks.
George Bain

P.S. The MAC Presidents' Award went to an Ohioan, Ada Adams Woodson, in
2007. Let's try for another recipient in 2009!

Nominations for the MAC Presidents' Award

The <http://www.midwestarchives.org/presidentsaward.asp>MAC Presidents'
Award was established in 1986 as a way to recognize significant
contributions to the archival profession by individuals, institutions,
and/or organizations not directly involved in archival work, but who are
knowledgeable about its purpose and intrinsic value. The success of
archival work often depends on these supporters making outstanding
contributions to the archival profession through such areas as legislation,
publicity, advocacy, and/or long-term fiscal support.

If you are familiar with an individual, group or corporation who you feel
is deserving of this award, please consider nominating them. The nomination
form can be found in the upcoming MAC Newsletter or is available from your
state's nomination committee chair. For more information, please contact
the
<http://www.midwestarchives.org/committee_chairs.asp#presidents>Presidents'
Award Chair.

Nominations are due to the state chairs by January 15, 2009.
