Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking qualified applications for the position of a fulltime Archivist. The Archivist is under the supervision of the Director of Library Services and is responsible for the management and administration of the college archives as well as digital asset management. The Archives documents the history of CCAD through a collection of electronic records, photographs, audiovisual materials, papers, and artwork of faculty, staff, and alumnae. The Archivist will join an active and engaged Library team that values learning, service, community, and a culture of assessment.
Essential duties and responsibilities, includes but is not limited to the following:
*Ensure access to the Archives through the creation of policies, procedures and collection development
*Create, organize, and maintain digital records
*Assist with the development of the college's digital asset management system
*Compile finding aids, reference guides, statistics, and reports
*Provide guidance and reference services to students, staff, faculty, and alumni
*Collaborate with library staff and other departments and offices in order to reinforce the library's position as an integral academic support service
*Responsible for care, conservation, and preservation of Archives
*Assist with setting departmental goals and objectives
*Represent CCAD in professional organizations such as Society of American Archivists
*Convey information about the history of the college and the library in different situations, including large presentations
*Provide responsive customer service at the circulation desk of the Packard Library as needed
*Train and supervise an archives student assistant(s)
*Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:

*Demonstrate thorough and current knowledge of archival standards and practices, including digital asset management
*Ability to function effectively in a flexible and collaborative environment
*Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
*Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
ALA-accredited master's degree in library and information science or advanced degree in archives administration; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Undergraduate degree in visual arts strongly preferred.
