[SOA] SB-83

Dear SOA members,

I am reaching out to you today as a Co-chair of the Advocacy and Outreach Committee because Senate Bill 83 is a bad law and will be bad for education in college classrooms.  I have mostly touched on how this law effects teaching history and related fields, but there is so much more wrong with it.  I hope you all will read my letter and that some of you will reach out to your State Representatives.  There are other more groups that have spoken out against this proposed law and I hope you will join them.  I have written an example letter that you can email to them or you can read it when you call.  Feel free to make some changes and make it your own.  It has been shown that calling does make more of an impact.  I have done both.  😊

I understand that not everyone will feel like you can speak out, but I hope that you will since we all have the right to free speech.
