The Eroding Civil Liberties of Libraries
with Christine Link, Executive Director, ACLU of Ohio

--The USA PATRIOT Act gives law enforcement broad access to many types of
personal records, including library, without probable cause of a crime.
Librarians who disclose record requests can be jailed. Ohio Senate Bill 144
would require libraries to install internet filters, and require parental
consent for children to borrow videos. Christine will lead a discussion of
these and related issues that infringe on basic freedoms of speech, privacy,
and access to information.
