at the Wood 
County District Public Library (251 North Main St., Bowling 
Green) Wednesday, August 4 at 7:00 pm, when she visits the 
library as part of a national tour for her newly released novel, <i>By a 
Spider's Thread</i>.</span></font></div>
<div align="left" style="margin-left=0mm; margin-right=0mm; text-indent=13mm"><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size:12pt">Since her debut in 1997, Laura Lippman 
has won virtually 
every major prize in the mystery-writing field and earned the 
highest critical praise for her Tess Monaghan series, which has 
been called &quot;spectacular&quot; (<i>New York Times</i>), &quot;terrific fun&quot; 
(<i>Washington Post</i>), &quot;a delight&quot; (<i>Baltimore Sun</i>), and &quot;the best 
mystery writing around&quot; (<i>Village Voice</i>).</span></font></div>
<div align="left" style="margin-left=0mm; margin-right=0mm; text-indent=13mm"><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size:12pt">Ms. Lippman was a newspaper reporter 
at the <i>Baltimore 
Sun</i> for twelve years. Her novels -- <i>Baltimore Blues</i>, <i>Charm City</i>, 
<i>Butchers Hill</i>, <i>In Big Trouble</i>, <i>The Sugar House</i>, and <i>The Last 
Place </i>-- have won the Edgar, Agatha, Shamus, Anthony, and Nero 
Wolfe Awards, and <i>In a Strange City</i> was named a <i>New York Times</i> 
Notable Book of the Year. She is also the author of the critically 
acclaimed novel <i>Every Secret Thing</i>. Ms. Lippman lives in 
Baltimore, Maryland, which also serves as the setting for her 
novels.</span></font></div>
