Conference Dates: April 13-15, 2005
Where: Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio

Don't miss this opportunity to network with archivists and special =
collections librarians throughout the state! This two-day conference =
offers sessions that focus on developing business, technical, and =
practical skills for archivists with all levels of experience.  SOA has =
partnered with several organizations to offer special workshops during =
the conference, including, "Public Records Law for Archivists," "Adobe =
Photoshop" "MARC for Dummies" and "Map Cataloging."  Sessions such as =
"Documenting Diverse Communities" "Volunteers and Student Workers," =
"Archives in the Classroom" and "Deaccessioning" offer practical advice =
and in-depth discussion on topics facing archivists today.=20

Tours of area archives and historical sites, including the Library of =
Congress Film Vault, Hawthorne Hill (home of the Wright Brothers), =
Dayton Art Institute and Archives, and Carillon Historical Park allow a =
behind-the-scenes look at these institutions. Wright State University =
Archives will host an evening reception on Thursday, April 14. Student =
poster sessions will be held during the reception, along with an SOA =
Business Meeting and elections. Other exciting events during this year's =
conference include a Silent Auction, and Evening Restaurant Tours.
