Colleagues,
The following is posted on behalf of the ALAO Diversity Committee. A
link to the workshop registration form is included in the announcement
below.
This updated information is being posted to several Ohio listservs.
Apologies to those who receive multiple notices.
-------------------------------------
Among the many challenges facing organizations today is the tremendous
workforce turnover due to the large number of employees simultaneously
reaching retirement age. The result is a more age-diverse workforce of
four very different generations working side by side. Each generation’s
unique perspective on work and differing values has contributed to a
rise in conflicts and misunderstandings and has created the need
to find a better way to lead and work together.
Please join the ALAO Diversity Committee at the State Library of Ohio
in Columbus for an all-day workshop designed to help us acknowledge
generational differences, come up with options for improved relations,
and create models for working together productively.
Note: This workshop has changed presenters since last advertised and
the original title was Age Matters: Generational Tensions in the
Workplace.
The workshop will be held from 10a-3p Friday, May 5, 2006 with a boxed
lunch provided. The cost is $40. Please complete the registration
form available from the workshop description on the ALAO website
http://www.alaoweb.org/comsigs/diversity/spring-wkshop-2006.html
and mail* it in with your check by Friday, April 28, 2006 to:
