Calls for National 2007 Coming Up Taller Awards Nominations

Columbus, Ohio - The State Library of Ohio announces an opportunity for
libraries working with arts and humanities organizations that provide
outstanding after-school and out-of-school programs, to submit a
nomination/application for the Coming Up Taller Awards.

The awards recognize excellence in after-school and out-of-school
programs to expand and encourage creativity, learning opportunities,
community involvement, and an increased understanding of each child's
role in their own future. The award celebrates a vast array of high
intensity Arts and Humanities programs to achieve cultural, personal
growth, and historical insight to broaden opportunities for youth who
typically lack access to high quality arts and humanities experiences.

The Coming Up Taller Awards program is a collaborative initiative of the
Institute of Museum and Library Services <http://www.imls.gov> ,
President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities
<http://www.pcah.gov> , the National Endowment for the Arts
<http://arts.endow.gov/> and the National Endowment for the Humanities
<http://www.neh.gov> .

There will be 15 awards of $10,000 and Certificates of Excellence
presented to each of the Coming Up Taller Award Finalists. For more
information about the instructions and criteria for submitting
nominations go to: www.cominguptaller.org/awards.html. All nominations
must be received by the President's Committee on the Arts and the
Humanities office by Wednesday, January 31, 2007.
