Hello everyone,
I want to start a discussion about Intranets in the library.
Are there any libraries who use an Intranet to communicate, store documents,
run centralize calendars, and schedulers for library employees to use
internally?
Logic dictates that setting up an Intranet, to centralize communication,
would be a Cost-effective way to increase workforce productivity and enhance
collaboration between employees. The tools I have right now to start the
configuration process of setting up an internal Intranet will be a Windows
2003 server running Internet Information Services 6.0. Is there anyone out
there with experience setting up an Intranet up who would like to share
their ideas and experience? This does not have to be technical, just basic
ideas.
I would also like to get any input on any other tools anyone has used to
provide Group/Shared Calendars, internal message or chat boards and a
centralized Reminder system used for meetings etc.
Thanks in advance,
Christopher J. Brose
