Susan,
Twinsburg has for a long time allowed patrons to eat as the theory was people take the books home and eat peanut butter and jelly while reading them etc. so...
It eliminates staff having to patrol for illegal contraband, and one less stresser for them.
We don't allow drinks by computers, but everything else is fine.
We have two vending machines, one coffee and one snacks.
We allow food from restaurants, and generally don't have to worry about cleaning up. (It did take us a few years to train them.)
I'd rather have a teen room of boys eating McDonald's than fighting and yelling. (French fries make it hard to talk...:-)
Good luck...
