Please excuse cross-postings.

Whether you're new to cataloging or need an RDA-friendly refresher, we have options to help here at OhioNET. We regularly offer our Fundamentals of Cataloging series in both online and in-person formats, so you can choose what best fits your schedule and learning preferences.

Our next online series kicks off one week from today and will focus on the key issues and elements you need to know when cataloging periodicals, in both physical and electronic formats.

Fundamentals of Cataloging ONLINE: Serials Cataloging Overview (Session 1)
This session sets the groundwork for the later webinars in this series, by exploring key vocabulary for serials cataloging, explaining major differences between monograph and serials cataloging, and sharing freely available examples and resources to simplify your workflow.
Tuesday, Oct. 13th, 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM (Live, ONLINE)

Does face-to-face work better for you? We'll be hosting the last session in our current in-person series in just over a month. If you're responsible for cataloging or records maintenance at your library and could use a better understanding of how subject headings are assigned, then check out Fundamentals of Cataloging: Subject Analysis for Copy Catalogers<http://www.ohionet.org/civicrm/event/info?id=287&reset=1>. As with the rest of our Fundamentals series, this workshop is geared toward folk who primarily practice copy cataloging. Our workshop leader, Misty Alvaro, will share an overview of a variety of subject heading systems, rules for how Library of Congress subject headings are assigned, and details about MARC21 coding and RDA-related changes in both bib records and LCSH authority files.

Only 5 spaces remain!
