[OPLINTECH] Trouble with DeepFreeze

Faronics' Deep Freeze seems to always work beautifully...when Microsoft
doesn't break it. I never once had a problem with it until Windows 8 came
along and Microsoft catastrophically broke (to the extent of needing a full
Windows reinstall) it with two different Windows Updates over a 1-2 year
period. Even since then, I've found it to be negatively impacted on several
different occasions by a Windows Update. Fortunately, not quite to the
extreme extent of the first of those two original events with Win8.x, but
occasionally up to the level of what you've described. With that in mind,
have you tried rolling back some of the more recent Windows Updates around
the time you started experiencing the problem to see if you can pinpoint
which one introduced the issue?

If you can identify the update that started your problems, perhaps you can
buy yourself some time until Faronics can correct for the problem.

Naturally, I'm assuming it's a Windows Update that broke Deep Freeze here.
That seems a reasonable assumption considering that the whole point in
using DF in the first place is to control the state of the operating system
and *prevent* change...and yet the one thing that's in a constant state of
unpredictable change now IS the operating system. (Thanks, Microsoft.)
