[OPLINTECH] Hosted Polaris question

Hi Jan,

Greenville Public Library uses Polaris hosted-ILS with RDP connections. They are using OPLIN fiber circuit for Internet. They have not reported any issues like frequently losing RDP connection or slow/laggy performance.

We manage nearly all the IT at GPL, including their networking and firewall equipment.

Hello all and please excuse me for cross-posting,

Is your library a Polaris, hosted-ILS library? Does staff use LEAP or the RDP server/client interface? We are a hosted Polaris library. Our clients lose connection, daily, and circulation staff is frustrated.

If you are using the RDP connection, does staff report connection interruptions with the need to log back on to continue using Polaris?

If your library transitioned to LEAP, does staff experience service or connection interruptions? What functionality is missing from LEAP that staff would like to see restored?

I think we would eliminate the service interruptions using LEAP, but there is great resistance to learning a new system. If your library has the same setup and any experience moving to LEAP, I would appreciate feedback.
