[SEO-Members] Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges Symposium: FREE professional learning event on June 20 in Cuyahoga Falls

The Kent State University iSchool, in collaboration with OELMA, presents Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: DEIB Advocacy in the Era of Book Bans<https://www.oelma.org/Breaking-Barries>, a symposium for public librarians and library workers, school librarians, LIS students, and others invested in equity and intellectual freedom.

The symposium will be held on Thursday, June 20 at NEOnet, 700 Graham Rd, Cuyahoga Falls. The event is FREE and lunch is included.

Attendees will:

  *   Network with public and school librarians, KSU students, teachers, and iSchool faculty
  *   Discuss censorship challenges and advocacy opportunities to develop action plans.
  *   Learn about books for children and teens with inclusive voices from underrepresented groups.
  *   Learn about programs to meet the needs of the underserved.

Speakers include authors Quinn Diacon-Furtado and Scott Savage; KSU iSchool faculty Belinda Boon, Mary Ann Stahr, Mary Anne Nichols, and Meghan Harper; and public and school librarians.
